Color coding for Electronic Positive Responses

Updated today

Each utility is responsible for submitting electronic positive responses for each ticket within a timely manner. Different responses require a different level of attention so 811spotter color codes each response.

Safe To Dig? status

The Utility Icon - summarizes the status of all utility responses. The following figure shows the different utility condition and what each color means

Each active response is color coded:

  • Red indicates that an action is required

  • Yellow indicates a missing or ‘indeterminate’ response

  • Green indicates a valid response and that it is ok to proceed (with respect to this specific utility)

Together, the responses are summarized into one of three color status’ (red, yellow, green) that are displayed in the Safe To Dig? Utility Icon see article
