When will my ticket be renewed by 811spotter?

Different States and call centers have different rules but you add the “Re-marks by Date” column to your ticket list. 811spotter will first attempt to renew/update the ticket 1 calendar day prior to the Re-marks by date.

I don't want a ticket to renew indefinitely

If you have a ticket that you don't want to renew indefinitely, you can Set renew until. Select your ticket then under the Details tab goto the Lifecycle and click on the edit box:

Select date to renew ticket until. enter the date in the box and select Save.

Which of my Tickets will automatically renew?

When in ticket list view there is a column called Renewal. This column displays the renewal status. The tickets that say Automatic are the tickets that will automatically renew. In the example the column is highlighted in blue.

Notice in the same example is a ticket with a renewal listed as Not Permitted.

There are a number of reasons an automatic renewal is not permitted. A closer look at the ticket detail shows that this ticket is not permitted to automatically renew as it was called in as an emergency. If work beyond the emergency repair is required, a new ticket is required for work to continue on the site.

In some states if a ticket is in a "Damaged State" the ticket will not be permitted to renew automatically until the damaged state is cleared. Additionally, some states only allow a ticket to renew twice before an new ticket has to be requested.

How do I stop a ticket from renewing?

If you are done with a ticket and you no longer want 811spotter to automatically renew the ticket, you can set the ticket as Closed. When you do this, the ticket will be removed from the active ticket list. You can see it with the Closed filter . The ticket will expire naturally. You can change your mind and re-activate the ticket if needed at a future date. See article for example on how to close a ticket.
