What are attachments and how do I add one?

Updated over a year ago

Ticket attachments are a simple method to share additional documents and images related to the field, job and ticket. Attachments in context to site safety are commonly used to take photos or videos of locates.

In 811spotter the supported file types for attachments are:

  • image file (jpg, png,)

  • video (avi, mkv)

  • document (Word file)

  • pdf

  • link

The Attachments tab is located in the ticket form. In the example below there are six attachments - all are photos. There is no limit to the number of attachments that can be added, however, the maximum file size for images is 20mb. Images are stored on the 811spotter server so they are available anywhere you are.

On the right there is a toggle that condenses the attachments without the extra information about the images such as description, categories, utilities, user and ticket revision. This is a simplified view of attachments:

There is a small thumbnail of each attachment. To preview an attachment just click on the thumbnail and the image previews below.

This will take you to your file folders:

To delete an attachment click on the box beside the thumbnail. This activates an action bar with a number of buttons (Edit Description, Edit Categories, Assign Utilities, Download and Delete). Click on the "Delete" button.

Upon clicking on the "Delete" button. A new window opens asking you if you are sure that you want to delete the selected attachment. To proceed click delete, or click cancel to cancel the request.
