Automatically route emails in Outlook from notification centers to 811spotter

Set up routing rules in web Outlook to automatically forward ticket confirmation and member response emails from your local notification center to [email protected].

Note: you will need to set up routing rules for each notification center you work with.

  • Go to www.office.com and sign into your Outlook email account.

  • From the Outlook email window, click on the Settings icon in the top right navigation.

  • In the Search Outlook settings field at the top of the window, type “inbox rules" the hit Return/Enter on your keyboard.

  • In the new pop-up window, click + Add new rule from the Rules section.

  • In the Name your rule field, enter: "811spotter Filter Rule".

  • In Add a condition step, click on the Select a condition field and select From (at the top of the list).

  • In the Add an action step, click on the Select an action field and select Forward to (towards the bottom of the list under Route).

  • In the field that appears next to the Forward to field, enter: "[email protected]" and hit Return.

  • You can also add other actions, conditions and exceptions, per your organization's preferences.

  • Unselect Stop processing more rules.

  • The resulting rule should look like the following example:

Notes

  • Once completed, the rules are active for any future emails. Historical emails will need to be forwarded using other means.
