There are two ways to set up 811spotter with gmail:
Client rules. This is generally for people using a gmail.com address or for setting up an individual gmail client for testing.
Google workspace. This routes ALL emails company-wide and is for customers using Google Workspace (formerly G Suite).
Note: you will need to set up routing rules for each notification center you with.
Please use the emails below for routing.

Creating Email Filters and Forwarding Rules in Gmail for 811spotter
You can automatically forward all new messages or just specific ones to another address in Gmail. This following example is for forwarding messages from [email protected].
Notes
You can only set up forwarding on your computer – not on the Gmail app.
You can follow the same rules for Southern California DigAlert tickets. The emails to forward are from [email protected].
Automatically forwarding emails to 811spotter is very simple and involves the following steps:
1. Adding a forwarding address.
2. Creating a filter.
3. Bonus recommended step: forwarding multiple [email protected] emails to get started with 811spotter.
Step 1 - Adding a forwarding address
After logging into gmail, click on the Settings (gear) icon in the top right navigation and select See all settings.
In the Settings window, click Forwarding and POP/IMAP then select Add a forwarding address.
In the Add a forwarding address dialog box, enter "[email protected]" then click Next.
Click Proceed in the Forward mail to [email protected] popup.
Click OK in the Add a forwarding address window.
Copy the confirmation code into the Verify field box and click Verify.
Note: we will send a verification code back to your Gmail address within a few minutes.
Your Forwarding and POP/IMAP settings should look similar to below.
Note: There is no need to change these settings beyond what's pictured above.
You have completed step 1: adding a forwarding address.
Step 2 - Creating a filter
Go to the search box at the top of your gmail window and click on the icon to Show search options.
In the From field, enter [email protected] then click Create filter.
Check the Forward it to box, select [email protected], then click Create Filter.
You should see the notification Your filter was created in the lower left of your screen.
To manage or verify filters, click the Settings (gear) icon in the top right navigation, select Settings, then select Filters and Blocked Addresses. The completed step should look similar to below.

Step 3 – Forwarding multiple [email protected] emails to get started with 811spotter.
Gmail does not currently support the ability to forward multiple emails to a single email address like [email protected] with one click. To get started with 811spotter, it’s worthwhile spending five minutes to forward several emails into the system.
Go to the search box at the top of your gmail window and click on the icon to Show search options.
Enter the following details:
From field: [email protected].
Date within field: 1 month from today’s date.
Note: There is no need to send emails older than 30 days to 811spotter
Click the Search button. This search will result in a list of emails from [email protected] that were sent in the last month.
Select the emails you want to forward by checking the boxes to the left side of each email.
Right click and select Forward.
Note: this will open multiple gmail windows, so you may want to do only three or four at a time.
In the To field, enter [email protected] then click Send.
